EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACCREDITATION PROGRAM (EMAP)

What is EMAP

The Emergency Management Accreditation Program (EMAP) represents a set of  standards developed by independent emergency management professionals representing government, tribal, higher education, health care and private sector emergency management programs.

EMAP is a voluntary accreditation process and provides EM Programs the opportunity to be recognized as having achieved compliance with the highest industry standards for a comprehensive emergency management program.

EM Programs seeking EMAP accreditation are evaluated against the standards by emergency management peers during an on-site assessment. The on-site assessment occurs over the period of five (5) days.
